You arrive at your new hardwood front gates and admire the bespoke oak fence backed by a smart formal yew hedge. Walking across the threshold, you wander up the new block paving driveway, flanked by neat low box hedging and crisp mown lawns. A clay paviour and cobble pathway leads you past the timber framed garage and down the side of the house conservatory - the indoor swimming pool with it's decking surround and lush, tropical jungle plantings. On your left a tall oak pergola festooned with climbing roses and trained wisteria in full bloom invites you to follow the gravel pathway and you arrive at a solid oak door. This leads to the kitchen garden, a sensory experience of fragrant flowers, humming bees and colourful leaves. A potager with long raised vegetable beds - home to cut flowers and leafy crops, with trained pear trees (espalier) on the walls. A small herb garden sits in front of the Victorian greenhouse and to your right a small orchard of plum and apple trees. Timber archways line the pathways like soldiers at a wedding, providing support for sweet peas, beans and grape vines. On the left a soft fruit cage with strawberries and raspberries also provides protection for the sweet cherry trees. A cedar wood garden office stands amid the flowers on the eastern side - what a great place to work. At the northern end, a bespoke metal archway with Edwardian style metal gates opens on to a curving pleached lime walkway which beckons you through the arboretum, past the yew maze and across the newly turfed lawn; back towards the house. Long and wide sweeping steps invite you up on to a formal natural sandstone terrace supported by an impressive dry stone retaining wall studded with jewel-like alpines and Sempervivums. You turn to look at the breath-taking view across the wild flower meadow with it's wild orchids to see the Lake. The glistening water dances in the sunlight and a small boat is moored at the jetty waiting to take you to an island paradise.
