Envisages' Landscape Architect, Charlie Hartigan, has been invited to interview for the award-winning, online fashion and style guide, Muddy Stilettoes.
Head-hunted through Instagram, Muddy Stilettoes reached out to Charlie to see if she would be interested in contributing to their 2021 Homes & Gardens feature. The feature is in direct response to the Covid-19 crisis, as more homeowners are turning towards their homes and gardens as a place to rest, relax, entertain and exercise.

Charlie was given exclusivity and was the only landscape designer invited to take part in the yearly special.
She was asked to put together a list of her most unique and inspiring ideas to make the best of your outdoor space; "I didn't want to include the usual list of 'attract wildlife and think about growing your own vegetables' - although these are important and helpful suggestions! I wanted to give homeowners some substantial ideas that were quite different from the usual garden design advice you can find online, with some helpful tips for working with a designer", says Charlie.
About Muddy Stilettos:
The content below is borrowed from the Muddy Stilettos website
Muddy Stilettos first tottered into the world in 2011 as a way for journalist Hero Brown (from the Independent on Sunday, The Observer, Red, Marie Claire, Elle) to find out the fun stuff to do in Bucks & Oxon, having moved out of London that summer with husband and baby son in tow.
Quickly Muddy Stilettos caught on locally to become the ultimate ‘urban guide to the countryside’ – a witty, useful insider’s guide to the very best food, walks, boutiques, day trips, hotels, interiors and events for smart, fun-loving women living outside London.
"Millennials are swapping the City for a new life outside of M25 – The average age of moving out of London is down to 37 from 47 in the last 10 years." Source: Office of National Statistics
In November 2012 the site turned into a business, and seven years on, Muddy Stilettos can now be found in 25 counties, with editions in Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Essex, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Hertfordshire, Leicestershire, Oxfordshire, Rutland, Kent, Northants, Norfolk, Somerset, Suffolk, Surrey, Sussex, Warwickshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire.
"There’s a new breed of cosmopolitan woman living outside of London. She is well educated, likes to keep up with fashion, culture and trends. They want to spend their money on quality experiences that reflect their urbane tastes" - The Drum, 2020
Charlie is an experienced landscape architect and has worked on a variety of sites from small domestic gardens, to private estates of 20+ acres in size, arboretums, wildlife parks, and even natural burial grounds.
She has been interested in good-quality design from a young age, including winning a Blue Peter badge, aged 9, for the her entry into the Millennium Garden Design competition!
Whether you are working on a high-fashion urban retreat, or a heritage restoration project nestled in the countryside, Charlie and the team at Envisage have a wealth of experience to ensure your dreams are brought to life.
